Here are some fun opportunities (outside of my day job) to collaborate with new people on ideas completely unrelated to the products I work on. Winning these hack-a-thons is a real honor considering these are global competitions that include IBM’s top talent.

IBM Design Hack•a•thon
In 1 day we defined a problem that could be addressed with design thinking. This was our video submission targeting current meeting painpoints.

IBM Watson Hack•a•thon
In our spare time, over 3 weeks, we went from concept to code creating a mobile app (proof of concept) using the Watson Personality Insights api.

IBM Design Jam • Design For Social Good
In one day we defined a social problem and used design thinking to ideate on the best solution. Now we get to work with the IBM Service Corps to realize our vision - so unfortunately the project is NDA at the moment.

IBM Your Career AI Hack•a•thon
In 3 days, we ideated on the creation of a recommendation engine that leverages Watson to automatically aggregate personalized skills growth learning paths with evidence for its reasoning, based on a diverse set of public and private data.
